In a deeply sorrowful incident, a renowned stunt performer and actor celebrated for his roles in blockbuster films like “Black Panther” and “Avengers,” tragically lost his life, along with three of his beloved children, in a car crash that occurred in Georgia.
This heartbreaking incident unfolded when Taraja was only 41 years old.
The devastating crash took place late in the evening on Halloween, just before the clock struck midnight. The vehicle that Taraja and his children were traveling in collided with a large truck that had come to a halt on the road.
The heartbreaking news was first shared with the public by Akili Ramsess, who is not only Taraja’s mother but also a prominent photographer.
She serves as the Executive Director of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). Akili conveyed the immense loss through a heartfelt post on her Instagram account, in which she revealed the tragic passing of her son and two of her grandchildren.
In her emotional message, Akili expressed, “My beautiful, loving, and exceptionally talented son Taraja, who can be found on Instagram under the handle @chop.saki, lost his life, along with two of my precious grandchildren: his 13-year-old daughter Sundari and his 8-week-old newborn daughter Fujibo, in a terribly tragic traffic accident that occurred the previous night.”
She also revealed that two of Taraja Ramsess’ daughters survived the dreadful accident. His three-year-old daughter, Shazia, was admitted to the hospital, while his 10-year-old son, Kisasi, was placed on life support. Regrettably, a subsequent update conveyed the distressing news that Kisasi had also succumbed to his injuries.
Those who were close to Taraja Ramsess, like his friend and long-time trainer at X3 Sports, Tony Tucci, were left in a state of shock and grief upon hearing the news.

Tucci, in particular, emphasized Ramsess’ unwavering commitment to his family, sharing poignant memories of how Taraja’s children often accompanied him during his training sessions and shared in his love for martial arts and fitness.
Ava DuVernay, a highly respected director who considered Taraja Ramsess a friend, also paid tribute to him on her Instagram account.
She reflected on Taraja’s deep affection for his children, describing it as a “joyful, complete love” that was “a beautiful thing to witness.”
DuVernay also acknowledged his dedication to the world of filmmaking, highlighting his versatile contributions across various aspects of the craft.
Taraja Ramsess had made a significant impact in the film industry, with an impressive portfolio of work that included roles in major films such as “Avengers: End Game,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Creed III,” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.”
His departure from the industry marks a poignant loss.
