According to a source, the couple actually separated earlier this year and have been working on their friendship in a quiet and loving manner. TMZ reported that Grande and Gomez have been living separately since January.
The pair tied the knot in May 2021, and just two months ago, Grande posted a heartfelt tribute to her husband on their anniversary. However, a representative for the superstar did not respond to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment.
During the Wimbledon match, Grande sat in the center court alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey, with actor Andrew Garfield on her left. The former Voice coach has been in the United Kingdom filming the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the popular musical.
Fans were quick to notice that Grande was not wearing her wedding ring. TMZ swiftly reported that the Grammy-winning singer and Dalton have been experiencing marital issues and hit a rough patch a couple of months ago.
Dalton Gomez works as the director of the estates division for the luxury real estate company Aaron Kirman Group. In April, speculations arose when he deactivated his Instagram account, fueling rumors of trouble in their relationship.
Nonetheless, on their anniversary, the “Dangerous Woman” singer seemed to dispel those rumors by sharing a never-before-seen photo from their wedding day on May 15. She captioned the image on her Instagram story with “2 (3.5 together!) I love him so.”
Grande and Gomez started dating in January 2020 and spent the COVID-19 pandemic in quarantine together. They announced their engagement 11 months later, leading to their intimate wedding ceremony at Grande’s home in Montecito, California, in May 2021.
In contrast to Grande’s previous high-profile relationships with Pete Davidson, Mac Miller, and Big Sean, her relationship with Gomez remained mostly under the radar, which was a deliberate choice, according to insiders.
“Ariana doesn’t want another public relationship, so she is trying to keep this one low-key. But she seems very happy with Dalton,” a source revealed in 2020.
Throughout their three and a half years together, the couple rarely made public appearances as a couple. Gomez remained largely absent from Grande’s Instagram feed and remained hidden from her staggering 377 million Instagram followers.
This marriage with Gomez marks Grande’s first, as her engagement with Pete Davidson did not lead to a wedding.
